In doing a Resveratrol supplement review you need to look at the 'evidence'. You need to see that what you are being sold lives up to it's reputation and is not one of those fads that come and go and you're very soon out of pocket!

Before you can make a judgment on how effective, or otherwise Resveratrol is you need to look at some background information first i.e. What is Resveratrol and where does it come from? Does it work and if it does why doesn't everyone know about it - if it's such an effective ant-ageing drug?

What is Resveratrol?

Quite simply resveratrol is extracted from a fungus that grows on the skin of red grapes. Hence you may often hear of its association with red wine. Resveratrol somehow (scientists are still working on this!) inhibits bacteriological infections that wear down the immune system and this is why so many consumers 'feel' much better afterwards.

Does Resveratrol work?

What we do know is that laboratory experiments with mice have shown that there has been a significant reduction in the ageing process of mice treated with Resveratrol in comparison to those which haven't. We also know that CBS 60 Minutes interviewed the two French scientists which discovered this relationship causing other high profile celebrities such as Dr Oz and Barbara Walters claiming positive benefits.

However I can imagine you thinking that testing on mice is not the same as testing on humans. Yes, you are right and this is where the debate lies. Scientists are renowned for looking at phenomena and then looking for explanations (objective explanations). The two French scientists which I mentioned before noticed that French people had 'fattier' diets than their other European counterparts yet were much thinner and had a longer life span. The scientist invented a term to explain this called the 'French Paradox'. On extensive tests the differentiating factor was isolated as red wine consumption.

Additionally in Sardinia (an island off Italy) more people live past 100 and again the scientists have found out that the fungi from the red grapes there is even more concentrated than in France. So there seems to be a correlation for humans as well!

On balance there seems to be a correlation between Resveratrol and the anti-ageing process. This correlation has been enough to cause a surge in demand for the product and prices and quality does vary - so beware!

How do I get Resveratrol?

Resveratrol has two main manufacturers, LongeVinex (French) and Xi'an (China) and is manufactured as capsules/pills. The quantity of which ranges from 30 to 60 capsules per bottle. In doing this resveratrol supplement review we have found that the best companies are so confident that they offer a free trial.
